There’s something special about engagement sessions where couples start out a little nervous but end up completely relaxed and glowing by the end—and that was exactly the story of Mary and Sebastian’s engagement session at beautiful Lake Las Vegas.

As Las Vegas wedding and portrait photographers, we love engagement sessions because they give couples a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera before their big day. Mary and Sebastian were the perfect example of how quickly that transformation can happen.
When we first met up at Lake Las Vegas, Mary and Sebastian admitted they were a little nervous. Like many couples, they told me they weren’t sure how to pose and were worried about looking awkward in photos. The truth is, almost every couple feels that way at first. That’s why I always take the lead during engagement sessions—guiding couples with simple direction while also giving them space to interact naturally. Within just a few minutes of walking around the lakeside paths and beautiful architecture, Mary and Sebastian started to relax, laugh, and just enjoy being together
And that’s when the magic happens. Instead of stiff poses, their photos became full of real smiles, natural movement, and sweet moments between them. Watching their confidence grow throughout the session was so fun, and the result was a gallery filled with romantic, joyful images that truly reflect who they are together.
Lake Las Vegas is one of my favorite spots for engagement photography near Las Vegas. With its stunning waterfront views, warm desert light, and charming Mediterranean-style architecture, it creates such a romantic setting for couples.
The soft evening glow reflecting off the water gave Mary and Sebastian’s photos a dreamy feel, and every corner of the area offered another beautiful backdrop. From quiet lakeside paths to textured stone walls and scenic overlooks, it’s a location that always delivers variety and elegance in photos.
One of the best parts about photographing engagement sessions is getting to know my couples before their wedding day—and spending the evening with Mary and Sebastian made me even more excited for their upcoming celebration.
I’ll be photographing their wedding at Wedgewood Weddings Stallion Mountain, a beautiful golf course venue known for its scenic mountain views and elegant outdoor ceremony spaces. It’s such a great setting for wedding photography in Las Vegas, and I already know their day is going to be amazing.
Because we’ve already worked together during their engagement session, Mary and Sebastian will walk into their wedding day feeling confident and comfortable in front of the camera—which means even more natural, joyful moments captured throughout their celebration.
Engagement sessions like this are one of the reasons I love being a Las Vegas wedding and portrait photographer. Helping couples go from feeling nervous to feeling confident, capturing genuine connection, and creating photos they’ll treasure forever is truly the best part of my job.
Mary and Sebastian absolutely crushed their engagement session, and I can’t wait to document the next chapter of their story at their Stallion Mountain wedding.
Stay tuned for more from their big day!
